The Garden Party is a dwarf variety of oriental lily. This garden gem, sought after by many collectors, develops several unusually coloured flowers on a single stem. As a perennial plant, lily perfectly fits into pots, boxes, and compositions on borders and flower beds. From an underground bulb, presented plant shoots an erect, forty to fifty centimetres (sixteen to twenty inches) tall, erect stem that is covered with lanceolate, shiny leaves. Four to seven buds appear on top of of each stem and unfold into funnel-shaped flowers that take on an intriguing set of colours. Yellow stripes run through the very center of white petals, whose tips show hits of orange-red. This already striking colour show is accentuated by burgundy-red freckles resulting in an electrifying impression. The sweetly scented Garden Party lily flowers appear in July and August, right in time to accompany spectacular summer compositions. Decorative Garden Party lilies look magnificent in bouquets too. Just a few freshly cut stems can decorate a dining room or a chest of drawers in the living room.

Grow lilies at sunny or partially shaded sites. Plant bulbs twelve to fifteen centimetres (five to six inches) deep and twenty to twenty-five (eight to ten inches) apart. Lily can grow at the same place for several years as long as you provide them with thick cover for the winter.
