The tulips that belong to the selection of the low growing Greigii tulips are all wonderful plants. This bulbous perennial grows between 10 and 45 centimetres tall. Cultivars that belong to this group produce flowers that look like deep cups or goblets. Various shades of red, yellow, and white are the primary colours of that tulip group. Smudges and stripes often adorn the flowers. The bottom of the flowers is usually yellow or black. The size of the flowerheads seems not to fit the height of the plants - flowers are huge. They might make up for up to one third of the stem length. The stems themselves are rather short and thick. Their broad leaves that are adorned with the unique, eye-catching purple or dark red stripes are also ornamental. These small, charming tulips are a great idea to decorate borders, rock gardens, and various planter arrangements. These tiny tulips that sparkle with their saturated colours will bring you plenty of joy and give a great show of flowering between April and May.

Flowering tulips bring joy to people. A small tuft of the most popular bulbous flowering plant should not be missed in any garden. They can be used in a wide variety of ways. You can plant them on single-variety flower beds and carpet beddings, in mixed compositions with other bulb flowers, and in different arrangements with perennials and annuals. They look great on English-style borders that surround lawns. The reliable and proven tulips can be used to fill planters on a balcony, terrace of patio. Presented tulips can be incorporated into a rock garden and used as colourful accents around trees and shrubs.

If you decide to plant tulip bulbs, choose a sunny or partially shady situation. The shade will not let them unfold their full flowering potential. The soil should be permeable. If it is not, we recommend to add a proper drainage layer. Loosen and weed the soil before the planting of the bulbs in autumn. Add a solid dose of compost to provide the bulbs with the appropriate nourishing. The optimal soil reaction for tulip cultures should be neutral or slightly acidic. The sites where tulips grow should be sheltered from strong winds to protect the flowers from getting damaged. Regular weeding and removal of the overground parts after the end of the flowering period are the key measures that allow to keep tulips healthy and the bulbs strong.

Plant the bulbs at the depth that equals twice their height. Keep the pointy tips - the shoot buds - up. Cover the bulbs with soil. Press the ground in order to eliminate hollow spaces. Water them once, yet abundantly. Tulips are resistant to frost and can winter in the ground. Cover them with mulch or conifer twigs before the winter.

Each package contains 5 bulbs of the low growing Greigii Mix tulip selection sized 11/12 centimetres in circumference. Basic plant information and growing tips were printed on the label.
