The Hippolyta double-flowered snowdrop is a unique garden plant that arouses interest of many gardeners. Its graceful, delicate flowers illuminate the garden at the turn of winter and spring. Subtle greenish rosettes made of numerous small petals with white edges are surrounded by longer and wider outer petals. The foliage of snowdrops is gray-green, lanceolate, and rather fleshy. Leaves perfectly emphasize the simple charm of the flowers. Lush tufts of Hippolyta snowdrop constitute a wonderful decoration of rock gardens and sidewalk and path edgings. Planted in large numbers, snowdrops create beautiful natural bedding that attracts first bees. Subtly scented flowers can be arranged in small, romantic bouquets.
Snowdrops can be planted at both sunny and slightly shaded sites. They tolrerate various types of soil, though develop best in humous, fertile, and slightly alkaline soil. End of September and the beginning of October is the time to plant snowdrop bulbs. You do not have to bury those small bulbs too deep, five to seven centimetres (two to three inches) would be enough. Snowdrops can grow for many years at the same time. We recommend feeding them with organic fertilizers. This usually all that is required from a grower in cultivation of these lovely flowers.
One package contains three bulbs of the Hippolyta double snowdrop. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the product label.
