Hyacinth "Miss Saigon" is a bulbous beauty that blooms take on a deep purple colouring. These attractive blooms revive the grey, after-winter landscape in a very intriguing way. This is a very fragrant variety that harmonises with other first spring flowers. It guarantees magnificent visual experiences, particularly grown in larger groups.

Hyacinth of the "Miss Saigon" variety sprout in the middle of spring. Bulbs planted in autumn develop a rosette of shiny, green leaves. A thick, short stem appears in the middle. It is covered with bell-shaped flowers from all sides. These excrete a strong aroma when in full bloom. This is one of the features for which we love hyacinths. The vividly purple flower heads of the "Miss Saigon" hyacinths bloom approximately 2-3 weeks.

Hyacinths should be planted into light, sandy soil. The humidity should be kept at moderate level. These plants prefer sunny sites, even though partially shady sites or those with dispersed lighting do not hamper their development. They require fertilization with compost or manure before planting, but you may also use special mineral fertilizers, too. Hyacinths winter in the ground in central European conditions. Cover them with timber twigs or a thick layer of dried leaves.

Colourful and fragrant hyacinths fit into many garden spots, but not only there. They are perfect for borders that include a mix of bulbous plants and perennials that bloom in spring. We advise to grow them along paths and pavements, where you would smell their great aroma when passing by. Hyacinth also make for great plants for growing in containers that you may arrange according to your wish and needs in the garden. They are often planted in glass containers and baskets that adorn the interiors. Hyacinth blooms may be cut and used as durable cut flowers.
