The Jaybird Oriental lily belongs to a group of varieties that will stun you with fragrant flowers. The pleasant, characteristically sweet scent of the lily makes it difficult to pass by indifferently. Its impressive, cup-shaped flowers that consist of six soft, velvety petals take on a lovely pink colour. A darker stripe spreads in the centre of the petals. The inner side of the radiant flowers is speckled with tiny dots and irregular patches. Lily bulbs can be planted both in the ground and in containers. Lush, tall lilies feel good at sunny positions that are sheltered from the wind. After flowering, the plants should be topped so that they do not set seeds. It could weaken the flowering power in the following year.
