The well-known lilies are bulb plants, whose most important asset and in most cases, the reason for growing, are the magnificent, aromatic, multicolour blooms. Their charm and uniqueness make this species to the commonly used part of garden and interior arrangements. The "Empoli" variety that we present here stands out from the other ones with the unusual colouring - the pink blooms have a green-yellow perianth. The height of the fully developed plants reaches circa 120 cm. The lilies bathe in the characteristic, pleasant aroma that holds for a long time. Lilies need a permeable, slightly acidic soil that is rich in nutrients. You will be able to enjoy its unhampered development both on sunny and partially shady sites. Bulbs should planted at the depth equal their circumference, at least a dozen centimetres apart. End of September is the perfect time for planting lilies. Flowering occurs in high summer and will dazzle you with its abundance. This species handles low temperatures below freezing point extremely well and would require extra protection only in case of extremely unfavourable conditions in form of heavy frosts. Viral and fungal diseases may cause some problems in cultivation of lilies. Both excessive and insufficient watering may impair lily growth, so you need to act prudently in that regard.
