The White County lily is a classic beauty that you can invite to your garden still today. Its flowers consist of white petals and mahogany anthers and contrast with the juicy green lanceolate leaves that grow directly from the stem. Hints of green and small insets may occur inside the perianth. They prevent the flower from being plain and ordinary. The proudly erect lilies are plants that can be used in a variety of ways. They have been chosen for gardens, pots and planters, and for cut flower for years, winning crowds of aficionados in the process. The almost one metre tall lilies please the eye, hence we suggest to plant them in a showcase spot. Those lilies harmonize with tufts of ornamental grasses and lower carpet bedding perennials. The majestic silhouettes of flowering White County lilies are a perfect addition to classic, English, and modern gardens. Their long, erects stems that carry the flowers look great in bouquets and compositions. Their noble stylish colour adds an elegant touch to all decorations for all possible occasions.

You can plant lily bulbs either in autumn or in spring. The first period is right for many varieties, the second works best for the late flowering cultivars. The soil should be loosened, thoroughly tilled, and weeded before planting of bulbs. Plant bulbs at the depth that roughly equals their circumference. A distance of 30 to 40 centimetres should be kept between the most lily varieties.  The right situation for growing lilies is either sunny or only partially shaded. We recommend enriching the soil prepared for planting of lily bulbs with a substantial amount of deacidified peat that will keep it moist, and sand that will aerate the soil. Adding compost is an optimal solution, as it will provide the plants with a starter dose of nutrients. Lilies prefer aerated and permeable soils that have a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. They cannot stand neither moist nor dried sites. Lilies winter in the ground very well. Change their site every three years to maintain the abundance of blooming at the proper level.

We hereby offer 10 bulbs of the White County lily sized 16/18 cm. A label with the key plant facts and growing instructions can be found on every package.
