Lobelia ‘Sapphire’ is an exceptionally beautiful and popular annual plant used for filling in planters and pots on balconies or terraces. Also grown in flower beds and borders, Lobelia ‘Sapphire’ produces 50 to 60 centimetre-long shoots that partially hang downwards; the shoots are all covered with gorgeous little sapphire flowers that appear during the flowering period.
Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes under heated cover from February to April. The seeds germinate in 10 to 15 days at 20oC. Make sure to prick out the plants. Plant out into a permanent position in 20x20-40cm spacings. This variety grows best in moist fertile soils in sunny positions and does not mind transplanting. 0.1g of seeds produce around one thousand plants.
