The 'Orange' martagon lily (Lilium martagon) is an exceptionally ornamental, erect and abundantly blooming variety that will turn your property into an exotic garden of paradise. The circa 100 centimetres tall plant is covered with subtle, numerous flowers. They consist of narrow, outward bending petals and are smaller and more delicate than the inflorescences of the popular Asiatic lilies. Their smaller size does not compromise their ornamental value. They are gathered in a loose cluster at the top of a stem and swing picturesquely in the summer wind. The 'Orange' martagon lily that is available here in our store develops flower that take on a bright tangerine colour. The large, lemon yellow anthers that stick out from between the petals are also decorative.

The martagon lilies are not too demanding when it comes to the site. They like both open and sunny situations as well as those that remain in partial shade for some time of the day. We recommend to provide them with a rich, humous, permeable soil. Should the soil in your garden be loamy and tend to crust, mix the soil from the planting hole with deacidified peat and put a thick layer of gravel on the bottom. The bulbs will develop healthy flowers for years to come in such conditions. The hardy 'Orange' martagon lily does not require any protection from the frost. It stands out with its vigour and resistance. It looks best in groups of three to five plants. We recommend to combine this orange-flowered variety with the 'Pink' variety of the same species. It will also look great in arrangements with other slender erect summer perennials, such as lupin, foxtail lily (desert candle), phlox, canna lily and in company of the tall tree lilies. The variety that we present here can also be grown in tall planters on a terrace or balcony.

One package contains 1 bulb of the 'Orange' martagon lily, sized 16/18 centimetres in circumference. The essential plant growing tips can be found on each package.
