Mata Hari is an eye-catching white-flowered tulip whose flowers sport a broad raspberry-red margin. This undeniably intriguing and attractive variety plays the main part at the end of the tulip season. The Mata Hari tulip dazzles in large single-variety plantings, but its charm can also spread over a mixed perennial flower bed. Its silvery foliage perfectly enhances bicolour flowers. Those features are worth using in an elegant pot arrangement. The contrast between white and magenta in Mata Hari tulips looks stunning in bouquets and floristic decorations. The tulip offered here in our store grows up to forty-five centimetres tall and flowers in April and May.

Large, oval buds of the Mata Hari tulip unfold eagerly at sunny situations. Sandy-loam, well-drained soil with high humus and nutrients content is considered best for cultivation of this species. Plant tulip bulbs in autumn in previously thoroughly cultivated soil. Loosen, weed, and fertilize the soil a multi-component preparation or compost in spring, after the leaves have started to sprout. During rainless periods water tulips once a week until the end of the flowering period. Remove flower rests with the stem after the blooms have wilted. Plants left only with leaves gradually enter the state of summer dormancy. The bulbs can stay in the ground all year round, but we recommend to dig them up and plant them again in autumn.

One package contains five bulbs of the Mata Hari tulip, sized 11/12 centimetres in circumference. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
