Nerine Alba (Nerine), available here in 10-piece packs, is an extraordinary perennial originating from South Africa that blooms in the second half of summer. Meshlike umbels appear at the tops of the smooth, erect, 3050 cm high stalks in August. They consist of 510 small, snowwhite blooms that resemble flower cups of the St. Joseph lilies. Grasslike, dark green nerine leaves that sprout from the stalk bases and bend lightly sideways also present high ornamental value.
Bulbs of this valuable plant are planted late in spring out in the field or slightly earlier into a mediumlarge, well drained container. The variety offered here loves sunlight and warmth, hence it feels best at a wall or hedge facing southward in openair cultivation. The soil needs to be fertile, constantly moist yet loosened and light it does not waterlog. It looks best in larger groupings on lawns due to its extraordinary, magnificent inflorescences, but nerine works well in compositions with white and pastelcoloured lilies or ornamental grasses, too. Plants grown in pots are recommended for decorations of a bright room, balcony, or terrace. Nerines must be transferred inside to a frostsafe room in autumn, before the first frosts.
One package contains 10 large bulbs of Nerine Alba sized at least 12 centimetres in circumference. Essential growing instructions have been printed on each package.
