The melliferous organic buckwheat (Fagopyrum acutatum), whose 100 grams seed packages we offer here, is an annual plant that displays high honey production rate. It is popular among the bees, as it produces plenty of nectar and pollen. Strong vigour, long blooming and easy cultivation also belong to the advantages of this plant. Buckwheat blooms 4 weeks, end of June and beginning of July, in favourable weather conditions. The honey production per hectare varies, depending on the weather, from 110 to 490 kg. Buckwheat honey dazzles with a distinct, unique taste and aroma, a deep colour and beneficial properties. It constitutes a strong natural antibiotic and therefore helps in healing respiratory tract infections, prevents from cardiovascular ailments, support the functioning of the liver and helps cure anaemia.

The seeds of the organic buckwheat should sown in spring. The plants grow 30 to 60 cm tall. They bloom the most abundantly on moist and fertile soils. The site should be open and sunny. The plant presented here can be used as the primary bee forage. It will also turn out to be a valuable component of an organic flowery meadow that will attract the pollinators to the orchard or garden.
