The Paprikash Siberian iris is a perennial that produces attractive flowers whose colours can seldom be seen in this species. They present a combination of pink, cinnamon brown, with a hint of bright yellow. Tufts of narrow, sword-shaped leaves grows 60 to 80 centimetres tall and right above them flowers appear. The intricate arrangement of six petals constitutes the main ornamental feature of the plant. The eye-pleasing iris proves to be indispensable in every garden and will refresh every garden arrangement. The unusual flowers appear in large numbers on stalks hidden inside the leaves end of June/beginning of July. Siberian irises swaying in the wind offer a breath-taking show at garden borders and on pond edges. They look great as a part of naturalistic plantings that resemble wetland meadow. Their decorative flowers in an unusual colour can be cut and arranged into stylish bouquets.

Siberian iris prefers sunny situations, can live in partial shade. It likes fertile, humous, moist soil with a slightly acidic reaction. Plant this unproblematic species early in spring. You do not have to bury underground rhizomes too deep. Irises can survive drought periods, but they thrive in humid-soil. Presented species winters well outside. You only need to dig out the rhizomes every few years and transplant them to a new site.
