The 'Monstrosa' daisy is a charming plant that is eagerly planted in gardens and containers alike. It owes its popularity to the easy cultivation and tender flowers. It is grown as a biennial plant. Its leaf rosettes form compact tufts that often grow together. Light red flowers that sit atop naked, slender stalks tower over the leaves. The inflorescences consist of yellow disc flowers that are surrounded by tender petals - ray flowers. The double and semi-double flower heads bloom all spring and summer long. The 12 to 25 cm tall tufts are the perfect decoration of edgings, borders, flower beds and carpet beddings. They look great in smaller arrangements in planters and bowls. Small daisy bouquets provide a sweet note in every interior arrangement.
Daisy seeds should be sown in greenhouses in June and July. Transfer the seedlings to the permanent site in September. Daisies prefer fertile and moderately moist soil.
One package contains 0.1 g seeds of the red-flowered Monstrosa daisy. The basic plant facts, growing instructions and the sow-by date can be found on the back side of the package.
