Red-flowered summer flax is a phenomenal annual plant. Beautiful, delicate twigs with large, flat flowers constitute a unique decoration of a flowerbed. The loose panicles with sparkling inflorescences supply excellent material for bouquets. It is a typical summer flower as its beauty can be admired from June to September. The long flowering period is guaranteed by the systematic development of flowers at the bottom of the plant. After the intense red petals fall off the flowers are replaced with circular seed bolls. They give the plant a new decorative dimension. They can be cut and used in dried winter compositions. The fiery red summer flax adds character to flowerbeds and rock gardens. It can be sown in containers that complement balcony and terrace arrangement. The 40-cm tall plant looks good at the forefront of garden compositions.

Summer flax prefers positions in full sun, with permeable, humous soil that is not too moist. The seeds are sown directly into the ground from April to May. The seedlings need to be planted 12-15 cm apart, in rows spaced every 25 cm.

One package contains 1 gram of seeds of red flowered annual flax. The basic plant facts and growing tips were printed on the back of the package.
