The red-flowered garden mignonette belongs to plants that will provide you with an unforgettable aroma experience. This inconspicuous species, whose branched stems grow 30 to 40 cm, excrete a cloud of sweet, intense, yet pleasant scent. The plant takes on an erect and rather dense habit. The stiff stems are adorned with a conical 15 to 40 cm long flower clusters. The flowers are, though, not really attractive. They take on a creamy-white and green colour with red-orange anthers. The aroma of the mignonette can be enjoyed from July until autumn. It can complement various flower beds and borders, but due to its main feature, we recommend to plant it at the spots that you frequently visit or stay at. Grow the garden mignonette in groupings close to gazebos, terraces and relaxation spots. Sowing this plant in boxes on the balcony is also a great idea, as the aroma can flow inside to your home. The garden mignonette produces exceptionally durable cut flowers. It will act as a great green filler for many bouquets and give them the exceptional fragrance.
The large mignonette plants can be grown in a lime and humous soil. We recommend sunny sites for the plant that will develop less blooms with a weaker aroma in the shade. The presented species reacts well to mineral and organic fertilization.
Sow the seeds from April to May directly onto beds. The seedlings should grow 20 to 40 cm apart at the target site.
One package contains 2 grams of the red garden mignonette. The sow-by date and the growing instructions can be found on the back side of the package.
