Loosen the too compact soils with an admixture of sand and enrich them with compost. Plant the bulbs the pointy end up circa 12 to 15 centimetres deep, keeping similar distances between plants. Tulips usually do not require watering after planting. Should autumn not be rainy, water planted bulbs in order to let them take root. We recommend to remove the overground parts after the flowering period has ended and excavate bulbs every three to four years to upkeep the abundance of blooming.
