The Spacecoast Freaky Tiki daylily (Hemerocallis hybrida) is an exceptionally ornamental variety that often blooms repeatedly. The plants take on a growth form of broad, grassy tufts from which the flowering stalks emerge. The Spacecoast Freaky Tiki variety grows up to 50 cm tall. The first blooms appear rather early, already at the end of June. Large, bright orange blossoms are decorated with numerous darker dots and there is a charming frill at the edges of petals. This variety is intended for growing in decorative, large pots, as well as on borders and lawns.

Spring is the optimal time for planting daylilies on borders, although you may also plant them in autumn. When choosing a site for these plants you would need to take into consideration that they prefer sunny sites. They also like fertile soils with high humus content and high water capacity. These daylilies are frost resistant and may grow on the same site for many years.
