Spring onion variety mix is our offer for those who value diversity. Onions in three different colours and with varied flavour intensity grow equally well in a home vegetable garden and in a planter on a balcony. Presented variety selection allows you to prepare different variants of your favorite dishes. As they grow, you can harvest spring onions greens and enjoy the delicious aromatic chives, while the end of the growing season will bring you ripe, appetizing onions that you can eat and cook rightaway or store. Onion belongs to the most versatile vegetables that is also valued for its health-promoting properties. It has a proven disinfecting effect and contains plenty of vitamin C and minerals.

Start planting spring onions in March, as soon as the weather improves and heralds the coming of spring. Plant these small bulbs in rows 20 to 30 centimetres apart, maintaining 10 to 15-centimetre spacings between them. The top of the bulb should stick out of the soil, make sure to firmly press soil around it. Choose a sunny and warm position for your spring onions, and preferably, a sandy-clay soil that is also permeable and moderately moist. Average, compact soil, that are rich in humus, allow you to enjoy high onion yield. Feeding the site with manure the autumn before and thorough ploughing provide spring onions with optimal conditions and a head start in the new season. Regular weeding and watering of the ridges is crucial during the vegetation season. Onions grown from spring onions are harvested 4 to 6 weeks earlier than those grown from seeds.

This set contains white onion Alibaba, typical yellow onion Sttutgarter, and red onion Wenta.

We hereby offer one-kilogram packages of spring onion selection.
