The situation should also be sheltered, so strong wind does not break the tufts carrying heavy flower load. Superba begonia tubers can be planted from January to May. Make sure to provide them with a fertile, humous, permeable soil with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. Begonias in general prefer moderately moist soil that does not waterlog, as the excess water may cause plants to rot quickly. Fertilization is another factor that is key for good health and attractive look of the plant. It is best to use fertilizers dedicated for this species that optimally meet its nutritional needs. The optimal spacings between tubers is 30 centimetres. Do not plant deeper than 5 centimetres in the ground.
