The “Tigrinia Red” gloxinia (Sinningia speciosa) is an easy to grow plant that produces marvellous, speckled flowers. This species is low growing and does not exceed 20 – 30 cm in height. Large flowers develop over a tuft of leaves covered with small, delicate hair. The cup-shaped flowers are velvety and take on white-red colour. Gloxinias are usually grown in pots, indoors and in winter gardens. The “Tigrinia Red” variety, that is valued for its long and abundant blooming, will definitely become a splendid decoration in every interior. You may, though, grow it in containers on balconies and terraces, too.

Gloxinia, or Canterbury bells, as it is sometimes called, feels best in warm and partially shady places, as it does not require access to direct sunlight. A nutrient-rich, permeable soil suits its needs best. Water the plants sparsely, as excess water may cause rotting or moulding of the tubers. Early spring is the perfect time to plant gloxinia tubers in pots. Place them 5 cm deep in the soil, circa 20 cm apart. This species is not frost-resistant, hence is most commonly grown in planters and pots at home.

One package contains 10 pcs of premium quality tubers sized 6/+ cm.
