Tomato "Alka" (Lycopersicon esculentum) is a dwarf, determinate field variety perfectly fitted for small gardens and grown from direct sow. It shows rapid growth and forms a nice, compact, bushy habit. This valuable variety belongs to parthenocarpic cultivars. This makes "Alka" an extremely productive variety that develops fruit even under adverse weather conditions, in the rain and cold. Its fruit grow quite large and weigh 90 g on average. They take on an attractive, round or slightly oval shape. They are intended for direct consumption and preserves. Great taste and high nutritional value belong to their greatest assets.
"Alka" tomato variety belongs to only few tomato varieties that are grown from direct sow to the open field. This eliminates seedling production from the cultivation process. Seeds offered in our online store have been covered with a special coating. It ensures optimal conditions in the germination phase and protects seeds from diseases caused by soil pathogens. Tomato seeds are sown from mid-April until mid-May. This variety will yield richest crops on sunny sites. It prefers fertile soils rich in humus and water that, however, also need to be permeable.
Each package contains 100 field "Alka" tomato coated seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date have been included in the product information.
