The Urandi tree lily (Lilium OT) and its XL-sized bulb will appeal to all lovers of the tall ornamental plants that develop large flowers in subdued colours. The variety offered here grows up to 150 cm tall and presents its beauty in the most spectacular way in single species groupings of 5 to 7 plants. Its erect, rather thick and stiff stems carry the large flower cups that tower over the other flower bed plants from July to August. The yellow calyx tubes and dark green, dense , lanceolate leaves contrast beautifully with the tender pink of the Urandi lily petals.
The bulbs of this sturdy vigorous perennial can be planted in spring and autumn. Choose bright, sunny or partially shaded sites. The tree lilies do not have any special nutritional requirements and grow well in any permeable soil that is rich in humus - you may fertilize the soil with compost in the spring. Even though the plants like the sun, the bulbs and roots prefer the chill. Therefore the mulching supports the proper development of the plants.
