The trumpet lily belongs to the most popular bulb flowers. The impressive size of its flowers and a wide range of colours allow you to create a unique summer decoration in the garden and right next to your house. Their flowers are directed outwards or bend down slightly. They consist of arched petals that take on a wide palette of saturated, vivid colours. This feature allows you to use them as the focal point of many compositions. Their open, cup-shaped form and tempting scent attract numerous insects. Trumpet lily buds develop in mid-summer, usually in July and August. Lilies always add elegance to a garden and are suitable for planting at the back of flower beds, in the corners of the plot, or along fences. You can also grow them in large pots to decorate a terrace or a veranda. Do not hesitate to cut them and use in bouquets.

A trumpet lily will thrive at a sunny position. It prefers fertile, moist, yet not water-logging soil. Its vigorous growth must be supported with an appropriate and regular fertilization. Plant this lily in spring or autumn. Put bulbs twelve to fifteen centimetres deep and let them grow at one position for several years. Remove faded inflorescences to prevent plants from producing seeds. During the season, lilies should be fed with special fertilizers for bulbous plants and watered during rainless periods.
