The Fringed Black tulip rose to international fame as the variety that develops the blackest flowers. The deep, velvety black of its colours remains clear irrespective of the lighting conditions, only in the sunlight you can see a subtle dark purple glow. The next ornamental feature of this variety are its decoratively frizzled petal edges that add a touch of lightness to the solid black blooms. The variety presented here in our store blooms at the end of April and at the beginning of May. It grows 40 to 50 cm, what allows to included it in planning of border and flower bed plantings. It will fit particularly well into a company of the lower growing bulb flowers, such as the grape hyacinths, fritillaries, jonquils and dwarf tulips. It will look equally stunning at the front of a row of the yellow or orange crown imperials. It can also be grown for cut flowers.

Bulbs of the Fringed Black tulip should be planted in autumn 10 cm deep. Its unique flowers will look best in groups that count at least 5 plants. This number of the tulips is required if you intend to turn them into a distinct counterpoint for the perennials that product flowers in light colours. This tulip should be grown on sunny, moderately dry sites in permeable, but fertile soil. It will also fit into large planters that you put on a sunny balcony or terrace.

Each package contains 5 bulbs of the Fringed Black tulip, sized 11 to 12 cm. The most important plant growing tips were included in the package information.
