Tulip "Gorilla" (Tulipa) is a truly magnificent variety that definitely deserves a place in your garden. These medium tall plants reach heights of 35 - 45 cm. "Gorilla" belongs to the late varieties, whose blooms develop only in May. This exceptionally ornamental cultivar develops deeply dentate petals, of which deeply crimson blooms consist. These flowers harmonise with varieties that produce inflorescences in paler, light colours. "Gorilla" tulip is a great decoration of the spring borders and will look particularly great in larger groupings that form distinct compositions. It may be grown for cut flowers, too.

Tulips prefer sunny sites, although they also grow in partial shade. You may expect the most abundant blooming on a permeable soil that is rich in nutrients. We recommend to fertilize the sites in spring each year with a special bulbous plant fertilizer or any other multi-component fertilizer. Plant tulip bulbs in autumn 10-12 cm deep and 10-15 cm apart. The "Gorilla" variety is resistant to diseases and unfavourable weather conditions. It is also highly frost resistant.
