The Maureen Double tulip is an ice-cream variety that will cool and tone down the merry colourful arrangements on the spring borders. It is exceptionally ornamental itself, as it produces immense peony-shaped inflorescences. What is even more important, thanks to its harmonious decent colouring of the petals - white with a touch of creamy yellow and willow green - it perfectly fits almost all colour compositions. The Maureen Double tulip is a late variety that blooms in May and grows rather tall, as it reach height of 50 cm. That is also why it can be used as cut flower.
You can plant tulip bulbs all autumn long. Choose open and sunny sites. If you dream about a tulip flower bed in a partially shaded garden corner, try to find a site that is exposed to the sunlight for the larger part of the day. The Maureen Double tulip has no special requirements in regard to the soil and will grow best in every humous, sufficiently permeable soil. As a late blooming variety, it will harmonize with the lily-flowered, parrot, fringe and ice-cream tulips that bloom in May (e.g. the orange Ballerina, the crimson-red Rajka, the Bordeaux-red Red Wave, the pink Darkest, the black Fringed Black and the purple Violet Prana). It will look like a charming miniature close to the white peonies.
One package contains 50 bulbs of the Maureen Double sized 11-12 cm. The basic plant growing instructions have been printed on the package.
