The Peggy Wonder tulip fully deserves to be planted in a place of honor in the garden. A bit extravagant, decorated with lush layers of petals, it almost astonishes those who see it. A mixture of green with pink and light purple wraps the outside of the flower, while the inside presents pastel pinks that converge towards the center in an increasingly white shade. Light golden stamens peek timidly from between the petals.

Each stem of this vigorous tulip produces more than one bud. The ability to bear many flowers has resulted in the variety being particularly popular as a flower for bouquets and various compositions. Their low height (approx. 30 cm) and beautiful large flowers speak for themselves to be planted in pots and other containers that we can display in the garden or at the entrance to the house. The first flowers of this variety appear at the end of April.

Tulips are not flowers that require very specialized conditions. You just need to learn a few basic rules to enjoy the flowers you grow. These plants are tolerant of soil, as long as it is not too moist and clayey. Tulips prefer soft, fertile soil, properly dug and fertilized before planting. A great idea is to use compost, which will reward you with beautiful flowers. If the position does not meet the expectations of these flowers, you may be tempted to improve them. Heavy soils are loosened with sand, and dry, sandy areas are leveled by adding humus and compost.

Tulips require sun, but exposure to a few hours of shade does not have a negative effect. The water requirements of tulips are described as moderate. However, remember not to allow the substrate to dry out in their position. It is recommended to fertilize tulips when the sprouts are approximately 5 cm long. This usually falls in March. We then use preparations with a high content of nitrogen, which the plant needs as a building material.

We plant tulip bulbs only in autumn, when the soil temperature is 10-12°C. When preparing the holes, pay attention to the depth, which should be equal to two bulb heights, usually 8-15 cm. You can add some sand to the bottom, then compost and good quality soil. Place the onion with the heel side down, cover it, knead it and water it. Before winter, it is worth spreading a layer of mulch, which will not only protect the bulbs from freezing but also limit the growth of weeds and the drying of the soil. This procedure is not necessary but desirable.

Tulips can grow in one place for about 3-4 years, after which they should be dug up, divided, and moved to another place. This type of cultivation will guarantee healthy and abundantly flowering plants full of vigor.

The set includes 250 pieces of Peggy Wonder tulip bulbs. Each label contains basic information about the plant and its cultivation.
