The Red Spider tulip belongs to the most characteristic varieties of the lily-flowered tulips. The pointed tips of its numerous petals look very ornamental. The majestic shape of the flower cups is wonderfully underscored by the deep red colour with a touch of green at the petal tips. Thick buds surrounded by tufts of slightly waxy leaves enchant with their exuberant beauty. The well-matched colours and a nice appearance of this low growing (30 to 35 centimetres in height) tulip prove that tulips do not have to be boring. Red spider is a variety for all those who search for new shapes and colours. If you give them a patch of a flower bed, you will get a unique, eye-pleasing, one-and-only decoration.

Growing tulips does not require much from a gardener. You only need to follow a few simple rules to have the plants pay you back with their wonderful flowers. Plant the bulbs in autumn 10 centimetres deep and 15 centimetres apart. Choose a sunny or partially shady site for them. The soil should be fertile, loosened, yet not too moist. It would be great if the site is protected from strong wind and heavy rainfall. The absolute minimum when it comes to tending to tulips consists of removing of the wilted flowers, weeding, and watering during drought periods. Tulips thrive in Central European climate and their bulbs do not have to be excavated each year. Digging them up every three to four years would be sufficient. That way you make your plants healthy and help them produce large flowers. Despite the high resistance to frost, covering tulip sites with mulch, dried leaves, or conifer twigs is recommended.

A single package contains 5 bulbs of the Red Spider tulip sized 12/+ cm. Basic plant information and growing tips were printed on the package label.
