The Star of Parrots tulip is a true star among the parrot tulips. Its large, thick, broad flowers immediately attract attention because of their irregularly shaped, wavy petals with a diversified texture. Their pink colour that resembles traditional peony varieties gains even more character thanks to the vividly green stripes that can be seen on the outer petals. All this makes the Star of Parrots tulip one of the most decorative varieties that are currently available on the market.
Plant the parrot tulip bulbs in autumn. A sunny flower bed, preferably its front or centre part, is the best site for these large, refined varieties of this category. The soil should be loose, permeable and rich in organic matter. The Star of Parrots tulip grows 45 to 50 cm and blooms end of April / beginning of May. It can become the focal point of every arrangement thanks to its exceptionally large flowers. It will stand out from the single and lily-shaped tulips with the sophisticated form of its inflorescences. It will turn into a modest, pastel companion when combined with the brightly coloured parrot (e.g. Estella Rijnveld, Exotic Parrot, Negrete Parrot). Due to its excellent longevity it is also a great cut flower.
One package contains 50 bulbs of the Star of Parrots sized 11-12 cm. The basic plant growing instructions have been printed on the package.
