full_description: White mustard "Maryna" (Sinapis alba) belongs to annual plants grown mostly for seeds that are used in production of oil, condiments, spices and pharmaceuticals. It may also be used as green manure, green fodder and as a part of pasture mixtures. The "Maryna" variety belongs to medium tall plants that develop erect stems that branch in the upper part. The stalkless, pinnate leaves, that have a slightly savoury taste, may be added to salads. The blooming period starts medium early and the flowers have high melliferous value. White mustard improves the structure and physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil when used as green manure, what significantly reduces nematode population in the soil - including the dreaded eelworms.
White mustard belongs to plants that do not have high soil requirements and can be successfully grown in light, yet not sandy soils. It will bring richest crops in fertile, moist and limey soil that should have neutral reaction. These plants show high resistance to periodical droughts, yet their development might be impaired by water shortages during the flowering period. Sow white mustard seeds as early as possible, as soon as the soil has properly warmed up and dried after the winter. The seeding rate for the main crop is 10-15 kg/ha and amounts to 20-25 kg/ha when sowing for aftercrop.
Each package contains 10 kg of "Maryna" white mustard seeds. The sow-by date is printed on the package.
