White mustard (Sinapis alba) is an annual oil-seed plant. It has been grown for centuries for this purpose. Its seeds are also used as spice and in production of the self-named condiment. White mustard is also used in the pharmaceutical industry. This species can also be grown for green fodder, because it quickly produces large amounts of green mass as an aftercrop. Due to its positive impact on the phytosanitary conditions of the soil it constitutes an important part of the crop rotation. It significantly reduces the population of various nematodes and it should therefore be grown in rotation with root crops. White mustard has high nutritional value because it supplies the soil with nutrients, organic mass and improves soil structure.

White mustard grows best in calciferous, loamy and sandy-loam soils. Neither too compact nor too light soil is appropriate for this species that handles drought and small frost very well. Mustard for main crop should be sown soonest possible, but make sure that the soil is properly warmed and has dried after the winter. Sow later when you grow white mustard for green fodder or green fertilizer. The seeding rate of the white mustard amounts to 10 to 15 kg/ha and 20 to 25 kg/ha when grown as an aftercrop.

One package contains 0.5 kg of white mustard seeds. The sow-by date has been printed on the package.
