Balsam Camellia is a lovely annual plant that grows to 60 centimetres in height, with long, thick and upright shoots. In July, this variety starts producing multi-coloured double flowers which resemble the flowers of Camellia; they decorate the plant up to late autumn. Balsam Camellia is an ideal plant to grow in basket planters, containers, pots and in basins.

Growing: sow the seeds under cover from March to April. Plant out into a permanent position in 30-40cm spacings in the second half of May. This variety grows best in sunny or semi-shaded positions.
