Bean "Esterka" (Phaseolus vulgaris) belongs to early French bean varieties and produces delicious, stringless, green pods. You may harvest them already 70 - 75 days after the cultivation start. This variety is valued particularly for its high resistance to diseases. What is also important, it shows long shelf life and withstands periodical water shortages. "Esterka" develops quite large pods that reach 15 cm in length. Straight and smooth, green pods are devoid of strings. This feature convinces many consumers to purchase. Bean "Esterka" is ideal for direct consumption and does not lose its properties after freezing or preserving.
French bean belongs to thermophilic plants and requires plenty of sunlight and high temperatures. That is why you should sow bean seeds in the second half of May only, when the temperature is high enough and the soil has warmed up. "Esterka" bean may be grown in the field or under covers. It grows best in fertile, permeable soils that are rich in nutrients. It should be planted in rows 45 cm apart. Due to its small size this variety does not need staking.
Each package contains 50 g of "Esterka" bean seeds. The package information contains growing instructions and the sow-by date.
