We now offer a sensational beetroot variety called "Detroit 2". The seeds were awarded with a BIO-quality label. They come from renown seed plantations that meet all the organic farm requirements.

Beetroot "Detroit 2" is an early variety - the vegetation period lasts only 58 days. It is therefore intended for an early harvest in bundles and may be used whole, with foliage, just like mangold. The spherical roots consist of a very firm, juicy flesh that has a blood-red, deep colour. It yields rich crops consisting of large roots. It does not tend to get pithy, nor to form rings. It stores very well. This beetroot does not require the highly fertile soils and is resistant to downy mildew. It is a tasty variety, rich in nutrients, ideal for direct consumption and long storage.

Seeds should be sown 2-3 cm deep from April to July in 30-40 x 5 cm spacings. Depending on the sowing date, the harvest takes place from July to October. Beets yield richest crops on sunny positions.
