BIO certified organic bittercress (Lepidium sativum) sprouting seeds belong to the easily cultivated sprouts. Thin, savoury tasting bittercress seeds supply us with valuable vitamins, fibre and minerals. They improve digestion, stimulate appetite and work wonders for skin, hair and nails. They fit well with eggs, cottage cheese and meats. They should land on our tables not only at Easter, but the whole year long.
Growing sprouts at home is quick and easy. You only need to soak the seeds in luke-warm water and place them on the strainer of the sprouter or in a jar, that you need to cover with gauze and turn upside down, enabling the water to drain. The container should be kept in a warm and light place that is, however, not directly exposed to sunlight. The key to success is regular rinsing of the cracking seeds (2 times daily is an absolute minimum). Well developed, tasty bittercress sprouts are ready to be eaten within 3 to 5 days after cultivation start.
The BIO seeds available in our store come from organic seed farms that produce their seed material according to EU regulations. Parent plants from which the seeds are collected are cultivated in an environment-friendly manner, without the use of chemical control agents, nor artificial fertilizers. The seeds are also 100% GMO-free. Packaging of the seeds has also been manufactured with nature in mind - packaging material comes from PEFC-certified forests.
Each package contains 20 g of BIO bittercress sprouting seeds. Sprout production instructions and the sow-by date have been printed at the back side of the package.
