Blue Alpine squill will cheer up every garden in early spring. This lovely little bulbous perennial grows up to ten to twenty centimetres (four to eight inches) tall and produces myriads of star-shaped flowers. They are gathered in clusters of three to fifteen on thin, leafless stalks. The beautiful blue colour of squill flowers stands out from a bleak, subdued appearance of a not-fully-awakened garden. The flowering period of this plant lasts twelve to fifteen days. A rather unknown squill constitutes a wonderful addition to a garden. It allows to create unique spring arrangements. You should entertain the idea of planting squill by a pond or in a rock garden. Alpine squill makes a great figure as pot plant too, decorating a balcony or terrace.

Squill belongs to species that are virtually care-free in cultivation. Make sure to plant it at a sunny, sheltered, and warm place. It tolerates light shade too. Fertile, humous soil that warms quickly and has a pH close to neutral offer presented plant optimal growing conditions. Squill bulbs must be planted in autumn, preferably fifteen to twenty centimetres (six to eight inches) apart, in rows every ten to twelve centimetres (four to five inches). Feeding bulbs with organic fertilizers nourishes them, improving soil structure at the same time.

One package contains ten bulbs, sized five centimetres plus (two inches plus), of the blue Alpine squill. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the product label.
