The 'Delta' carrot is a unique variety whose reliable and high yield meets with recognition of even the experienced gardeners. This is a late harvested vegetable. The harvest ready roots take on a marvellous dark orange colour. They have long storage life. They can take on a cylindrical or slightly conical shape. The delicious flesh contains plenty of sugars and dry matter. The 'Delta' variety is recommended for consumption right after the harvest, long-term storage and as material for the food processing industry, particularly freezing and juice pressing. The plants produce abundant, sturdy foliage that facilitates pulling the carrots out of the beds. This feature is used in machine combine harvesting. The fact that the variety does not accumulate nitrates is also considered an advantage.

Seeds of the 'Delta' variety are sown from April to mid May. Keep the rows 30 to 40 cm and the plants 2 cm apart. It usually takes 140 to 150 days from sow to harvest.

The carrot is a plant that requires a fertile, deeply cultivated soil that is rich in humus and does not waterlog. The beds on which the carrot seeds are sown should be thoroughly weeded and cultivated prior to the sow. We recommend to water carrot cultures regularly during the emergence and root growth stages in order to achieve higher yield.

Carrot roots supply us with numerous vitamins and minerals that are required for the proper functioning of human body. They stand out with high content of carotene that constitutes a source of vitamin A. The orange flesh contains plenty of vitamins E, K and B vitamins. Carrots are also rich in phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and iron. Carrot is an excellent plant that brings tangible benefits when eaten regularly.
