The Orange Monarch crocus is a variety, whose flowers take on an exceptionally attractive, saturated colour. The crocuses, flowers that herald the coming of spring, are popular bulbous plants that can be found in many gardens. These low growing plants are now accustomed to the Central European climate. We recommend to plant them in larger groupings for the more charming effect.
The name of this variety refers to a butterfly with magnificent orange-black wings. It turns out to be a correct reference, as the bright orange interior of the flower is covered with petals that are densely covered with dark veining that only underscores the depth of the inner petals. The intricate veining looks as if it were painted with a pen. This high ornamental variety looks exclusive and sophisticated, even if its leaves do not differ much from the foliage of other crocuses. The Orange Monarch will quickly become a clearly visible point of your garden.
Crocuses fit into almost every garden corner and arrangement. They form beautiful groupings in rock and alpine gardens. The colourful crocus carpets on lawns and alongside paths that bloom in early spring will create the unique ambience in the garden. Crocuses are great for forcing and pot cultivation. They will also surprise you with abundant growth in the balcony boxes, where they will surprise you in spring - provided you leave them there.
The colourful crocuses need a fertile, permeable soil in order to develop well. A site that is moist in spring and dry in summer proves to suit these plant best. The soil should be loose. Crocuses love the light and therefore grow best in the sun and partial shade.
Each package contains 100 bulbs of the Orange Monarch crocus, sized 5 to 6 cm.
