The "Sun Disc" daffodil (Narcissus jonquilla) is a charming variety producing blooms that resemble small suns. They also dazzle with their pleasant aroma. These plants develop tufts of elongated, narrow leaves among which the flowering stalks emerge. This small-flowered variety grows 30 - 40 cm tall and blooms in April. It is exceptionally ornamental thanks to the fact, that the yellow blooms develop in clusters of a few blooms at each stalk. The "Sun Disc" cultivar is perfect for planting in larger groups and naturalistic arrangements. We recommend to plant it close to the relaxation spots in order to be able to enjoy the fragrance of the flowers.

Bulbs of the "Sun Disc" daffodil should be planted to the borders in autumn. Choose partially shady sites, as these plants do not need as much sunlight as tulips. Yet they require more water. They will thrive on fertile, permeable, moderately moist soil that is rich in humus. Place the bulbs into holes 15 cm deep and 12 - 15 cm apart. This variety is frost resistant, but we recommend to cover the bulbs with a layer of bark, dried leaves or spruce twigs.
