Dahlia 'Bashfull' is a medium-height variety distinguished by its two-tone, burgundy-pink flowers. The velvety petals are darkest at the base and gradually lighten towards the edges, finished with a clearly visible yellow centre. Thanks to its well-balanced size and striking colour, this plant is highly versatile - it works beautifully in the middle of a border as well as in containers on a balcony or terrace.
Dahlia tubers are planted in spring, after the frosts have passed - most often from late April to May, once the soil has warmed up. An earlier start is possible indoors, in pots placed in a bright position.
The tuber should be covered with a layer of soil about 5-7 cm thick. The buds should be positioned just below the surface of the growing medium.
Allow 40-50 cm between plants to give them room to develop and ensure good air circulation.
This variety grows to about 75 cm tall.
Flowers from July to October. Regular removal of faded blooms helps maintain continuous flowering.
Dahlia does not overwinter in the ground. After the first frosts, the tubers should be dug up and stored in a dry, cool place until the following spring.
Dahlia 'Bashfull' is excellent for borders, pots and as a cut flower. Its subtle burgundy-pink tones are especially well suited to elegant bouquets. Combined with other plants, it creates harmonious and stylish arrangements. It is ideal for both modern and traditional gardens.
