The Inca anemone-flowered dahlia is a dwarf variety producing strong stems and numerous flowers. What distinguishes this variety from the others is the unique form of its flowers. Their centres are filled with small, tubular petals, surrounded by a ruff of slightly larger, elliptical petals. Dark, velvety red colour of the presented dahlia only adds to its charm. A tiny, yet exceptionally ornamental dahlia immediately takes over flowerbeds, edgings, and planters on a balcony. Outstanding appearance of this plant paired with long and generous flowering make this particular dahlia a perfect addition to home gardens, recreational grounds, and urban greeneries. Noble Inca dahlia flowers perfectly fill vases, they can be used as a material for other floristic compositions too.

Permeable and fertile soils are best for planting dahlias. Mediocre or barren soil requires regular fertilization and watering. You can add compost or a slow-release multi-component fertilizer right before planting. Avoid nitrogen fertilizers that would help plants develop lush foliage, but subdue the flowering prowess. To encourage dahlias to bloom profusely and longer, it is worth regularly removing their faded inflorescences.

Dahlia tubers are sensitive to low temperatures. You have to dig them out of the ground before winter in most parts of Europe. In autumn, after the first frost that usually kills overground parts of the plant, carefully dig out tubers. Cut frozen stems right above the ground and take out tubers. Clean them, let dry a bit, and store in dry and airy room that is secured against frost. Keep them in baskets or openwork boxes covered with layers of peat or sawdust. Plant dahlia rootstock again after the last spring frost.

Each package contains one first choice dahlia seedling of the Inca variety. Look for basic plant facts and growing tips on the package label.
