The decorative Jocondo dahlia is a perfect plant to create a distinct colour accent in your composition. This magnificent tall plant that reaches a height of 90 to 120 centimetres produces lush green foliage and beautiful light raspberry-red flowers. It constitutes a wonderful garden decoration in the second half of the growing season. One can forever admire its large flowers with slightly twisted petals. Jocondo dahlia that makes a great figure on a flower bed and in a vase, is a real gem worth having in your garden. Long flowering period, intriguing form, and unique colouring all belong to the features that make Jocondo dahlia so entertaining. Sensational as a solitaire, delightful in a larger group, this dahlia is a plant that should make you proud every year.

Sunny places, although the plants also tolerate partial shade, are optimal for dahlia cultivation. Shadows hurt dahlias that tend to overgrow in height in search for the sunlight and hardly bloom at all. Choose loosened, permeable, humus-rich soil. Dahlia planting time comes with the stabilization of temperatures and the passing of last spring frosts, sometimes already at the end of the April, but certainly after mid-May. We recommend soaking tubers in a fungicide solution before planting. Then place them in holes that are big enough to allow for unhampered development. Do not put dahlia tubers deeper than 10 centimetres. Dahlias require moderate watering and tolerate short-term droughts. Those vigorously growing plants require regular fertilizing. Apply liquid flowering plant fertilizers at least once a month. You can also use organic plant food.

Digging up tubers before the winter is a part of the growing routine. It must take place before frost can damage them. Let tubers dry afterwards. Fill the box where you plant to store tubers with straw or coarse sawdust. Keep boxes in a dry, dark room, with a stable temperature of 5 to 8 ºC.
