Deep red blended with pink and a bold golden-yellow centre are the main attractions of Dahlia 'Liquid Desire'. Most striking, however, is the structure of the flowerheads themselves - the main row of broad petals is complemented by smaller, slightly curved petals at the base, giving the whole bloom a great deal of visual lightness. Although the flowerheads are not among the garden giants, the plant more than makes up for it with charm and abundance. Its neat habit makes it easy to place in the middle of a border, and it can also be grown successfully in a larger pot on the terrace. These airy flowers are also excellent, natural material for summer bouquets in a vase.
Tubers are best planted from April to May.
The recommended planting depth is 5-7 cm.
Plant 50-60 cm apart.
This variety reaches 80-90 cm in height.
Flowers from July to October.
This plant is not frost-hardy and needs to be lifted for winter.
Dahlia 'Liquid Desire' works well in mixed borders and larger containers. Its contrasting centre and richly coloured petals make it possible to create dynamic combinations with varieties in white, purple or apricot tones. It is suitable for cutting - the flowers keep their freshness and intensity of colour for a long time in a vase.
