The "Seattle" dahlia is an ornamental dahlia variety that shows an unusual colour combination. It is enchanting, proud and full of almost regal beauty. It will dazzle with its bright yellow flowers, whose petals are covered with sparks of white, when planted in larger groupings. This plant will inspire you to create new, unusual compositions and to change your garden. The "Seattle" dahlia with its dark green leaves and light flowers put a spell on your garden together with the rudbeckia, aster, red hot poker lily and goldenrod until the first autumn frost. We recommend admiring the beauty of the "Seattle" dahlia on perennial borders, next to gazebos and relaxation corners. You can also create subtler arrangements by combining dahlias with ornamental grasses, such as silvergrass or reed grass. Cut dahlias will allow you to compose spectacular bouquets that will adorn the interiors. The flowers of the "Seattle" dahlia retain a fresh look in all kinds of arrangements for a long time.

Dahlia needs to be planted on a sunny site that is also sheltered from wind as plant's shoots are rather frail. Staking or use of other supports is an alternative solution to this problem. Keep plants 20 to 50 centimetres apart. From April to June, the tuberous rootstocks should be planted about five centimetres deep. They develop well in sandy-clay, fertile, and permeable soil. It should be watered during extended period of drought. Do not forget to remove wilted inflorescences. Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia tuberous rootstocks cannot winter in the field and must be excavated after the first frost. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the roots with peat in order to ensure best possible storage conditions. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.
