The Double Ellen Pink Spotted Lenten rose will delight those who love unusual perennials. Presented variety produces stunning, large flowers that appear at the end of the winter, when the garden is still grey and deserted. The plant that we offer in our garden store bears double flowers whose light pink colour is underscored by the pink-purple spots. A tuft of the Double Ellen Pink Spotted Lenten rose grows circa 40 centimetres tall and wide. It is worth displaying this compact plant in planters and boxes, but it will also wonderfully adorn garden borders and naturalistic plantings. Lenten rose flowers can be cut and arranged in vases, where they stay fresh for at least a week.

The magnificent Lenten rose is not to difficult nor demanding in cultivation. As it does not like transplanting, make sure to choose the site thoughtfully. According to the preferences of the species, a Lenten rose seedling should be planted in partial shade or shade. The place should also be sheltered from wind. A permeable, fertile, moderately moist soil allows the Lenten rose to reach the peak of its beauty. Choose large, deep, and stable planters that would accommodate long roots when growing Helleborus orientalis in pots. Water Lenten rose during heat waves to support bud production. We also recommend to remove the oldest leaves, as this supports flowering and protects plants from fungal diseases. Do not dig out Lenten rose. This long-lived perennial survives Central European winters well.
