The irises belong to the most popular bulb plants. One of the cultivar division, the Dutch irises, stands out with a distinct, clearly visible yellow dot that spreads along the main nerve. The presented Silvery Beauty variety develops bicolour, pastel flowers. It is airy, subtle and full of charm. Dutch irises bloom at the end of spring, heralding the inevitably coming summer.
Iris flowers take on an unusual, very characteristic form. They are clearly divided into the upper and lower petals that together create meshy structures. The Silvery Beauty produces beautiful bicolour blooms. Their upper part is light blue, while the bottom petals are white with the characteristic yellow mark. This subtle play of colours proves to be very elegant. It is accompanied by the long narrow grass-like leaves who underscore the charm of the flowers. Several flowers usually appear on one stem.
Plant irises on a sunny and warm site in a moderately moist soil with a neutral reaction. The quickly warming and at the same time permeable soils suit these plants best. Dutch irises require some care from its growers, but the effects that they bring to the table are worthy that little effort. Remember to remove the wilted flowers if possible.
The 50 to 60 cm tall irises are perfectly suited for planting in groups on borders and flower beds. You may also grow them underneath or at the background of trees and shrubs. They look noble in planters and boxes, too. You may force them for cut flowers every year.
Each package contains 100 bulbs sized 7 to 8 cm in circumference.
