The carmine-red "Meteor" farewell-to-spring (Godetia grandiflora), also called godetia, is a unique annual plant that produces double, vividly coloured flowers. Their tender blooms gathered in flat, circa 8-cm wide bowls take on a distinct, pink-red colour, additionally accentuated by the thin, paler edges. The whole plant takes on form of a densely leaved, semi-circular tuft and measures no more than 30 cm. The compact, long and abundantly blooming "Meteor" farewell-to-spring wonderfully decorates flower beds, rock gardens, borders and pots on balconies. You may also grow it for cut flower.
The plant offered here in our store should be grown from direct sow to the field. Farewell-to-spring seeds should be sown in the second half of spring on a sunny, wind-sheltered site into the well-prepared, aerated and watered soil rich in humus. The flowering period spans from end of June until September. The "Meteor" variety dazzles with large, semi-double flowers that take on a seldom, dark, carmine-red colour. Due to its high ornamental value this plant looks well in larger groupings, e.g. in the border foreground or at an edging. You may also combine it with other godetia varieties, lower growing pot marigolds, the gazania, garden pinks and cockscomb.
One package contains 1 g of the "Meteor" carmine-red farewell-to-spring seeds. The sow-by date and plant growing instructions can be found on the back of the package.
