The Fringed Solstice tulip is an excellent late flowering variety. Exceptionally strong stems of this tulip are crowned with coral-pink-and-yellow flowers with dentate edges. The colours create a finely striped pattern. Shapely, elliptical calyxes of the presented variety last for quite a long time, decorating the garden in April and May. Fringed Solstice makes a great figure on flower beds and in cut flower plantations. It looks great in home gardens and pot arrangements on a balcony or terrace.

Tulips should be planted in autumn. Put them into a light, slightly sandy, humus-rich soil with a neutral reaction on a sunny site. Avoid planting tulips in heavy and wet soil. Intensive fertilization is not necessary in the first year of cultivation, the bulbs will do fine with a dab of compost. Do not forget about preparing and weeding the soil to maintain rich flowering. Regular fertilizing is recommended in subsequent years. Tulips can grow at the same site for three to four seasons. Dig out bulbs every summer, in June or July, after the leaves turn yellow. Then gently pat fringed tulip bulbs dry and store in dry, well-ventilated room until the next planting in autumn. Periodically check the bulbs and remove those struck by diseases. Tulips winter in the ground. We recommend covering them with a layer of bark or peat to help them spend the coldest months of the year unscathed.
