Garden nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus nanum) "Lady Bird" is an example of health and beauty. This splendid annual plant with decorative, round leaves and fiery-coloured blooms is a medicinal, edible plant, but first of all, it would charmingly decorate your balcony box planter. It grows 30 to 40 cm tall and forms, compact, almost ideally round habit. Its bell-shaped, bright yellow flowers with dark red dots that look like painted with a brush tip, tower over the emerald leaves from July until early autumn.
Low growing "Lady Bird" garden nasturtium, or Indian cress, as it is also called, belongs to only few abundantly blooming annual plants that grow well from direct sow. This process should take place late in the spring or at the start of summer. In order for the proposed variety to develop its full ornamental potential you should choose a sunny or only partially shady site with not overdried, humous, permeable soil. In pot cultivation you may turn to standard garden soil. This compact beauty will adorn borders, hanging baskets, box planters on balcony railings or any other kind of container. To get the most of the visual effect, you may consider pairing "Lady Bird" with the "Emperess of India" variety with orange flowers or with the mahogany-coloured "Mahogany Jewel".
Each packet contains 0.3 g of garden nasturtium "Lady Bird" seeds. A growing guide and the sow-by date have been included in the package information.
